Really Wicked Tricks

If you are serious about loosing a few pounds, set yourself some goals. The goals however, shouldn't be so difficult that they can't be managed. If you are successful at the beginning of your "diet", you are more likely to stick with it.

*What Appeals to You!
Create a list of snack foods you have never tried. A quick trip around a supermarket will open an entire new world to you. I happen to love kiwis and one or two chopped up on a plate will allow me to pass over that bag of potato chips. It isn't hard at all if you have enough wicked little tricks!

*Less and Less and Less
Here is a REALLY easy little trick. We have cut back from whole milk to 2% and then 1% and finally we are quite happy to use skim on our cereal. For coffee, I have cut back from cream to whole milk. Okay, it doesn't taste as good, but I can live with it considering all the calories I'm saving.

*No More Vending Machines
Before you are lured to the vending machine at your workplace or school, pack yourself some snacks that can compete with the goodies the machine has to offer. Remember that kiwi? Works for me.

*Make It Easy
If there are raw veggies in the refrigerator waiting to be peeled, that is probably where they will stay. Peel them and leave them on the counter and they will disappear before you know it. Not only will you benefit, your kids will wolf them down rather than make themself a snack.

*Slow It Down
With our busy schedules, more and more meals are eaten on the run and then instantly forgotten. A really easy trick is to slow down your eating. Chew every bite longer than you have ever done before and while you are at it, actually take the time to notice what the different foods actually taste like. You will probably be surprised at how much flavor you have been missing all these years.
