And the Award for the Week's Weirdest News Goes to ...

... Charlotte Feeney of Stratford, Conn, who sued L'Oreal for ruining her social life.
According to the Associated Press, Feeney sued after she dyed her naturally blonde hair brown. The package, she claimed, was labeled as blonde, but contained brown hair dye instead. The incident so upset her, she suffered from anxiety, had to wear hats, take antidepressants and stay home. My favorite part of the whole thing: She "
missed the attention that blondes receive."
A Connecticut judge dismissed her lawsuit.

The Secret to Washing Curly Hair? Don't.
Tuesday October 7, 2008
Since I am sharing beauty tips from beauty books, here's another one from "Curly Girl: The Handbook," a slender tome dedicated to the curliest among us:
This tip is from the author, Lorraine Massey. Massey used to wash her hair once a week and realized that it took about 3 days before it settled down and looked nice. One day -- on the day she was set to wash it -- she decided not to wash it because it looked great. She went another week, then two, finally three when she decided to never use shampoo again. She runs, she eats in smoky European restaurants, she swims in the ocean and everyone vouches for her: Her hair and her scalp don't smell, despite her shampoo ban!
Your Hair's Texture: Is it Fine, Medium or Thick? How to Find Out
Sunday October 5, 2008
I just bought Nick Arrojo's new book, "Great Hair" and it's full of fun tips. Arroyo is from TLC's "What Not to Wear," which I hate to watch because an ex-boyfriend said I should go on the show. Here's a great tip from his book:
To figure out your hair's texture, grab sections of it on the top, sides and back and watch how it falls when you let go. If your hair falls flat and limp, you have fine hair. If your hair sticks up straight or if it poufs up and away from your scalp and face, you have thick textured hair. Anything in between is medium texture.
Naturally blonde hair tends to be thinner in texture, while dark hair tends to be thicker.

If you get deodorant schmears on your clothes (as we all do from time to time), don't wet a cloth and try to get rid of it by scrubbing. Instead, try
