Rosebud Bath Bar

Quick Tip

Perfect for Valentine's Day

Head to the kitchen. We are making a bar of soap that has a rose embedded. What could be prettier for Valentine's Day?
  • 3 ounces of glycerin soap
  • 5 drops of *rose fragrance oil
  • 1 dried red rosebud
  • Irridescent Sparkles (cosmetic grade)
Weigh the glycerin soap that you will be using and then cut three ounces from the slab. Kitchen scales will come in very handy for this purpose.

Place soap chunks into a pyrex measuring cup and melt in the microwave for 30 seconds, checking each time to observe the melting process. It is best to proceed slowly. Stir to help the process along.

As you want the rose to show through the soap, we are using no coloring agent.

The last step is to add your fragrance. Add a few drops at a time as the scent can be overpowering if you aren't careful. Pour a little of the melted soap into the heart shaped mold and then press the dried rose bud into the soap. One you see that the rose is embedded into the soap, fill the mold to completely cover the rose.

This soap is for display purposes only and would be a great gift or a romantic way to decorate your bathroom for Valentine's Day.

* Be sure your fragrance oil is for use on the body.
