How To Ask Jamie

Hey guys. Here are some answers to your styling problems that you have sent in. Keep the questions coming and I will do my best to get the answers for you.

Difficulty: N/A

Time Required: N/A

Here's How:

1.   I had a question this week about adding wild colors to auburn hair. Wild pink is really hot now thanks to Kelly Osborne. Go for it.

2.   Another question about making your hair grow faster. Unfortunately you can't. The only thing I suggest is that you keep it as healthy as you can. Damaged hair can split and break off. It's not going to get long that way.

3.   Another question about hair brushes. My answer is to buy the best you can afford and choose one according to the texture of you hair. The right brush can last you years and years.

4.   Question about shampoos... what works for one person might not work for you, so don't expect it to. Best advice is to buy one that is inexpensive to start, but formulated for your hair type. (See tip 1 for more info)

5.   Question about putting hair up quickly and easily. The young lady who sent in this question is on a sports team and needs some ideas. The quickest updo, is twist and then pin up with bobby pins. (See tip 2 for more)

6.   Hair doesn't fade more in the winter. It just looks that way. Be sure to treat your hair to a good conditioning once a week and protect it as much as you can from the elements.

7.   Question about flat blonde color on a natural redhead. Dull, dull, dull. You need some warm blonde, copper and creamy blonde slashed into your tresses. Will look awesome.

8.   Question about frizz. It's usually the weather that plays havoc with your hair. Start off by using a shampoo and conditioner formulated for your hair. An anti-frizz lotion should help as well. (See tip 3)

Tips:

  1. Continued from #4: If it delivers, you have saved yourself a ton of money. If not keep looking. Don't automatically reach for the most expensive.
  2. Continued from #5:Should take seconds and each do will look different. Play with it! No two updos should look the same.
  3. Continued from #8:I could go on and on, but this is a huge topic. In a word, anti-frizz products. There are lots of great ones out there. Start with the reasonably priced ones and go from there.
