What You Need To Know

There is nothing cooler than pulling your hair up on a hot summer day. Unfortunately, there are a few things to be aware of. It's not as fool proof as you might think.

There are lots of ways to hold your hair in place and that is exactly what I want to talk about this week. Attention on the clips, ponytail holders and barrettes.

Before you put ANYTHING into your hair, take a good look at them. You will want to watch out for rough edges. Spring clips can be especially hard on the hair and you see them in use all the time. Rough edges can catch and break the hair as they are being removed, so take a good look before using one.

Ponytail holders that have a little metal connector are something to watch out for as well. They can cause the same kind of damage if strands get caught. Look for smooth holders similiar in nature to scrunchies.

And lastly... barrettes. Instead of using the hinged variety, use one that offers a stick that slides through the barrette, and then make sure that it is smooth and polished. Any rough sections can tear at the hair and we don't want that!

Have you stopped by the forum today? Here's what they are talking about.
