How To Slow Down Aging With Oranges

Can an orange really slow down the aging process? Here's a hint... while researching this How-To, guess what I chose for my morning snack.

Difficulty: N/A

Time Required: N/A

Here's How:

1.   As we age, our collagen production slows down. Vitamin C contained in oranges actually promotes collagen production. (See tip #1)

2.   Vitamin C strengthens blood capillaries. That means fewer broken capillaries visible on our face.

3.   They are only 64 calories, and the most filling fruit per calorie. (See tip #2)

4.   Look for oranges that seem heavy to the touch. Blood oranges have the most beta carotene. It is thought that beta carotene may lessen damage to DNA by free radicals. (See tip#3)

5.   Aromatherapy benefits too... the next time you peel an orange, inhale the gorgeous fragrance. Did you know that it will lighten your mood.

6.   Dry the skin of your oranges and then grind them into a powder. This makes a great scrub for your face.

7.   While Vitamin C can't cure wrinkles, it can help in their reduction and prevention.

Tips:

  1. Collagen is involved in the health and building of joints, cartilage, skin and blood vessels.
  2. Consuming inadequate amounts of Vitamin C can result in slightly thinner skin, rougher texture and less elasticity.
  3. Inadequate amounts of beta carotene are evident in the health of your hair, skin and nails.
