Do These Celebrities Pass the Makeup-Free Test?

Friday July 18, 2008
Oh jeez, I personally think the dermatologist in this celebs without makeup article featured in the UK's Daily Mail is a tad harsh on a few popular celebrities including Gwyneth Paltrow, Uma Thurman and Giselle Bundchen. In this article, he critiques their skin and dubs most of them damaged.

I've seen all three of these ladies on the streets of New York (Giselle, numerous times). None of them look pimply and sun damaged to me. I've found Giselle in person to be incredibly striking, but when I saw her about six weeks ago, she appeared a bit horsey in the face and too thin. Gwyneth is rather plain (disappointing as I've always had a huge girl crush) and Uma was a knockout and somewhat of a giantess. She seemed at least 6'2 in heels.

Are You Washing Your Hair Correctly?

Wednesday July 16, 2008
Ever wonder why it's always recommended on shampoo bottles to "lather, rinse and repeat"? I'd always assumed shampoo companies were trying to get people to use -- and therefore have to buy more -- shampoo.

Not so, according to About's new hairstyles guide, Kendra Aarhus, (check out her site). In her article, "Lather, Rinse, Repeat: How to Wash Your Hair," she explains the first lathering is meant to cleanse the scalp, and the second is to cleanse the hair (aha!). Kendra's article is a must-read.
