Fashion in 1910

The first girdle appeared around 1913 and was named Tango, after the famous dance.

Hats became much smaller in size but with turned up brims. Again, they were often decorated with feathers. Still following the Asian theme, we see more and more turbans catching the buyer's eye and some were amazingly elaborate.

Binding feet in China is finally outlawed during this decade.

In 1913, a Canadian named Gideon Sundback patented the zipper. (Where would we be without it?)

Changes in evening wear...
Brighter colors were introduced for the new floor length "lampshade" skirts and the plunging necklined tops that accompanied them.
