*Emery Boards... Time to Stock Up

Do you have enough emery boards? From experience as an ex-nail biter, I have found that you need to have one emery board in every room of your house and one in your purse, so that if you suddenly find yourself with a snag, you won't be tempted to nibble. And the condition is important too. If they look and feel smooth to the touch, it is probably time to replace them.

Don't lend your emery boards. At salons, it's the law in some states that they must be disinfected between clients. Must be a good reason!

*Pick Your Sunscreen Wisely

Did you know that there are sunscreens especially formulated for high altitudes? That's exactly what all skiers and snowboarders are looking for. An easy way to spot one on the store shelves is to look for mountain ranges on the logo. But, if you have no luck in finding one, at least choose a sunscreen with a minimum SPF of 30.

*Have You Looked Lately?

Have you given any thought to the condition of your toes... and your toenails in particular?

Before summer weather arrives, be sure to devote a little attention to your toes. Did you think that no one notices ragged, overgrown cuticles? And, no amount of polish is going to make a bit of difference. Actually it can draw more attention to the problem. So what is the easiest way to care for your toes?

Actually, you are going to like this. When someone asks you what you want for Valentine's Day, tell them you want a foot soaker. They have to be the closest thing to heaven. Play around with the different settings and then when you finished, do a little maintenance while the cuticle skin is soft. It won't take very long to achieve the softest feet possible, with the smallest amount of effort.

Celebrities Glam Up to Raise Money for HIV/AIDS

Christina Aguilera, Missy Elliott, Boy George, Chloe Sevigny and Linda Evangelista Are The New Faces Of M.A.C VIVA GLAM

Some of the most famous faces in the world are doing good by looking good. Christina Aguilera, Missy Elliott, Boy George, Chloe Sevigny and Linda Evangelista are taking time away from their red-hot careers to become the new faces of M.A.C's VIVA GLAM FIVE Campaign.

The popular cosmetic company founded the M.A.C AIDS FUND (MAF) in 1994 to support men, women and children affected by HIV/AIDS globally. Each year since, MAF has raised money to fund education, awareness and prevention programs and to provide financial assistance to organizations serving those with HIV/AIDS. To fund MAF, M.A.C created the VIVA GLAM lip color, with 100 percent of its proceeds given to HIV/AIDS charities that provide direct care services and daily essentials to those effected with HIV and AIDS.

Now, these five artists are combining their star power as the faces of the new VIVA GLAM FIVE SHADE. As always, every penny will go to HIV/AIDS-related organizations worldwide.

Every $14 lipstick sold can make a huge difference. For organizations in Africa dedicated to helping with the virus, the sale of one lipstick can pay for:

One month of food, shelter, medical aid and schooling to a child orphaned by AIDS. One dose of antiretroviral drugs to four mothers and their babies to reduce the risk of HIV/AIDS transmission from mother to child. For organizations within the United States, it can pay for: A week of groceries for people living with HIV/AIDS Five days of housing for a family of three Four HIV tests enabling people to learn their status, access care and prevent infection Those are just a few examples of what one sale can pay for. AIDS is now the leading cause of death worldwide. Every year, there are 40,000 new infections in the United States, half of which are people under 25. M.A.C VIVA GLAM can be purchased at any M.A.C cosmetic counter nationwide.

The Happiness Factor and Your Hair

Does the condition of your hair have anything to do with your happiness? You just might be surprised!

Believe it or not, research has been done on the relationship between your hair and your happiness. Strange as it may be, everything points to the fact that if your hair is behaving, it looks shiny and healthy, you will be happier with yourself and the world in general. Who would have thought that hair could have this much influence over you. And if that isn't enough, research has even shown that if you don't like your hair, you begin to doubt your own intelligence.
