Kate Gosselin's Hairstyle: "Everybody Wants It"

This would be a fine haircut for a coconut. The extra length in front would wave attractively in a tropical breeze. Otherwise, it’s completely unfortunate. A reverse mullet. But I hear women often change their hairstyle when experiencing relationship trouble. Maybe she should go in for a good snip.

It’s spiky in the back, long and straight covering her eye on one side and the other side is short and tucked behind her ear. Yeah sure Kate everybody wants your hairstyle. Is she serious? She looks like a fool with her hair. Instead of running around and being on tv maybe she should change her hairstylist and get someone who will bring her up to date instead of being in the past.

Would she look better with a cut that was so long on one side, short on the other… yes she would. I work on college campuses, and I see this haircut all the time. It looks ridiculous on 19 year olds, but at least you can cut them some slack because they don’t know any better…. you’d think her stylist would have talked some sense into her.

This hairdo is wrong on so many levels, and unfortunately it IS too many levels. That bit in the front is just hanging out there, the back is waaay too young for her. I can’t believe her stylist let her walk out of the salon like that. Shame!

Poor Kate! I don’t particularly care for her in general, but I most certainly do NOT care for this haircut. I DO like her color, and think a modern, chin length bob, with long layers and side swept bangs (like Taraji P. Henson from Benjamin Button) would completely soften up her look. It would also make her look younger, fresher and much more fashionable. Her current hairdo just seems like a desperate cry for attention.

Love Kate, hate the hairstyle. Her stylist is lying to her. Does this woman have no honest friend? Kate, I am that gal today. The spikes look like a porcupine’s rump and the front dollop of ash colored hair is just bad. It covers up half of a pretty face without any good reason and is decidedly unsexy. It is downright butchy! There.

Grow it to a short bob and during the grow out get with an honest stylist to decide what would look good. Such great hair – what a waste.

The color should also go. Light brown with some summery non ash blonde streaks or a warmer blonde with low lights.

Love it – I can’t wear it, but it looks fantastic on Kate!

I really think it’s cute. But not on an adult. My teenaged daughter is punk style and wears it in a longer version with the crown all spikey and it’s 2 different colors with red on top and black under the top layer. On my daughter it’s appropriate and “bad”.

Hmmmm… On an 18 year old maybe .. As long as she think its cute I wonder what she will do when she grows up ….

It looks like a backwards mullet. However, I do like the color, it works well for her.

I liked her hair before she got the short spikey look. I don’t know why anyone would want the new cut. It is rather ugly.

It definitely looks like she’s trying to hard. Besides her hair, which I might add looks like she attempted to bring back the Flock of Seagulls look only with a new century twist, she is WAY too tanned. Why is it older women insist on tanning as a way to look younger, a nice healthy just been in the sun glow is one thing, but she’s doing the full on fake-n-bake. The tan combined with her hair just looks wrong, and it’s not like she’s an unattractive woman but she looks like she’s trying to hard.

It’s actually kind of fun and punky… the problem is that none of the rest of her style matches with it. The front is lovely, actually very sleek and her hair looks like it is in good condition, it makes me think she should show off the good condition with the rest of her hair. However, back to the rest of her look not being punky… Sharon Osbourne could really rock this look if she wanted to and she is older. It’s about attitude not age.

I am all for each person expressing themselves the way they want but once you reach a certain age there are limts. This haircut would be great for someone in their teens or early 20’s but it looks silly on a woman of her age. Its one thing to go short to save time, especially for a woman with that many children, but it looks to me like it requires MORE effort than another style might and is not age appropriate. She comes off “kooky” not stylish.

Oh you people are so critical. Kate is as cute as can be and she could wear a paper bag on her head and look good. I for one LOVE this cut. When the wind blows her hair it still looks good. She is a woman who knows what she wants and she obviously likes it. I would wear a shorter version of this and I am 55. She is a trend setter for sure!!!!

It’s a horrible haircut. This woman is out and out delusional. She believes her hairdresser because he’s kissing up to her. I think she looks adorable in it. She is so pretty she could wear practically any hair style. Personally, I’d prefer not spiking the back, but I love the look of the front. If it works for her with 8 kids, so be it.

Why does everyone have to have the SAME hairstyles? Fashion is supposed to be an expression of freedom but the industrialization of fashion has made it fascist. Is fashion a way to control people? It’s her hair, she can wear it how she wants. We all change our hairstyles over time, so she will get another one soon, which we will like or not like. There’s bigger issues in this world. I didn’t even comb mine today, since I just had surgery and feel awful. Who cares? Not me, not my husband. If I were a celebrity, I still wouldn’t care, because I am an individual, with a freedom of choice.

I have had this haircut since 2000, but with shorter bangs in the front. All I can say is that I love it because it works for my hair and is so easy to style-short spikey pieces on the top give my face length which I need. However I will say some people just do not like it and make fun of me. Why is it always the naysayers who are seemingly louder than anyone else?

I absolutely love her haircut, I think it is incredibly flattering on her and I admire women who wear their hair to please themselves, not others. I really like the cut and style! I’m thinking of trying it myself. It’s way to easy, it seems, for some to be so judgmental on a haircut or style. Hello, yes I just LOVE Kates hairstyle as she is adorable. Its VERY stylish, versatile, great highlights and makes her look like a fun person. That is truly one of the nastiest hairstyles I’ve ever seen, which is saying something. It’s nice that she thinks of herself as some type of trend-setter, but it seems more women would rather throw themselves into a volcano than have it on their head.

Honestly, though, it probably wouldn’t be as hideous or irritating if it were on a woman with a modicum of warmth or grace.

Okay. You got me. I am insanely jealous of Kate; her youth, her beauty, her style and her dough. By all means, she should keep the hairstyle, the high-heeled wedge shoes, the low-cut tops and the short denim skirt! They really suit her personality. I can see she is finding the REAL Kate and showing the world what she is like behind that beautiful face. As for Jon, he is just becoming the “bad boy” that Kate said she always liked. That, in her own words, is what first attracted her to him. Don’t women marry men and then try to change them? Kate gave it a go and wound up with a sad sack who longed to be a boy again. I think the new hairdo kate has is really cute,have one myself. It all boils down to jealousy,as long as she like and deals with it everyday and her children why should anyone else care how she gets her hair done. In my part of the country this haircut is called the Dike Spike. No one gets this cut unless they are lesbian and wants the world to know it.

I love Kate’s hair and in fact I cut my hair the same way. So easy when your kid(s) only give you X ammount of time to get ready in the morning. It’s easy and quick to do and it’s stylish. It is one hot mess. both the hair and the life. Kate get off the TV and start being a Mom again. Maybe if you where raising your children rather than nanny’s cooks and baby sitters I would think that your hair was a way to make it easier to care for your family and still look nice. Since you don’t really parent.( between the baby sitters that live in the help with laundry and cleaning that has been going on since the baby’s where born)I would not use that as an excuse. I have watched the Duggers occasionally and she has long hair that needs more care than Kate’s rooster tail!!!

I actually have the same haircut as Kate’s but I’ve had mine like this for over 4 years. I’m not sure what she’s saying about the thin hair – I have thin hair and the reason I keep it this way is because my hair won’t do much else!!! I don’t like the hair cut on Kate because – 1) it’s a younger cut (I’m much younger than her) and 2) she needs to have a darker color with high or low lights. My hair is a deep red with lighter (not totally blonde) highlights.
Her comment that everyone wants her hair is absurd and egoistical. She is not the next Victoria Beckham.

I am a hairdresser, have been for twenty years. I own two shops.I have Kates hairstyle, and love it. It kind of an eightys style with a twist. (the spike in the back. As far as what one woman referred to as the stripes, that is called a frost, and is very popular right now.
Ladies, get a life. This woman has eight kids. She needs a style that is easy and this is. Stop picking her apart. I would only hope that I looked that good with her schedule. Kind of makes me wonder what your hair looks like!!
