Best Beauty Gifts, Plus Gifts to Avoid

Saturday November 22, 2008
We've never liked the gift ideas magazines give you. They're forever suggesting individual products, which are really just veiled advertorials for freebie stuff companies send them (trust us, we get this stuff too). Instead, our Best Beauty Gifts for 2008 are chock full of things we'd love to get ourselves plus tips on gifts to avoid.

I created a few gift guides to help you decide on gifts this year. None of these gifts are frivolous products that are fun to unwrap, but ones a women would never use. Instead, these are actual handy, high-quality gifts some of which aren't hard on your budget:

I love that Bobbi Brown lipgloss, that is good stuff. But I HATE Butter London nail polish. Have you ever actually used it? I find it awful, sorry if you actually like it.

Hmmmm, I did try it once and thought it was fine. It’s somewhat trendy at the moment so I thought it would make a great stocking stuffer, but you are a nail expert so I humbly bow to you and I’m replacing that one.

thanks!

I apologize, I read my comment again and realized that I sounded a bit snarky. I was just trying to nicely say that they aren’t worth the $12 price tag. Sorry! Thanks :)

No need to apologize! I want to make sure these gifts lists are awesome, and so I’m happy to adjust based on expert opinion!
