How to Pick the Right Hair Color
Tuesday June 3, 2008
I get emails all the time from people with hair color problems. They almost always end with the word "help" followed by several exclamation points. People want to go from bright red to light blonde or they want a fat white strip in their hair. I even got one email asking me what hair color is more popular, natural black or blue black (I have no idea, if you do, please weigh in below). So in honor of all the hair color conundrums, check out "How to Pick the Right Hair Color."

Huh… blue black or natural black? Of all the colors in my cabinet, I can’t say that either are terribly popular. I would imagine that blue black would have more sheen, and natural black more depth? Quite a quandary.
Natural black (usually called soft black)looks more natural on almost everyone…
The only people who can really have Blue- Black hair naturally are Native Americans and Asians I belive…
What a lovely blog. It’s so well written, funny and honest. I really enjoyed it and will come back again.

HI,
Recently I used a clear glaze on my hair & I’m very pleased with the results. My hair was a very dark brown with alot of silver. I also was growing it out of old hair colors I had.
This glaze is called luminize & I found it at a beauty supply store. With the glaze you do use a 10 volume developer. It does lift you hair 1 level (not much) & gives alot of shine. The glaze evened out my natural hair color & the ends that still had old dye on them. It also did not cover my silver hair, but highlighted it. This is what I wanted.
Now my hair is very shiney & looks like I have platinum highlights due to my natural silver.
I did dye my hair black once & though it looked very nice, I would not do it again. It can fade after awhile & look dull. Then it is a very hard color to lighten. You really can’t dye over it. It just seems that your roots will get lighter while the rest of your hair stays black. I heard that if you want the color corrected it cost a small fortune.
I belong to & look at many beauty websites. Many women are always asking how they can get the black dye out of their hair. It can cause a big problem for people.
Also if your hair is light & you dye it black & want to grow it out, you will have light roots & the rest of your hair will stay dark. So, most people have to get most of their hair cut off or color corrected.
There are some things you can do yourself, wash with prell to fade it. But black dye is very hard to remove. Some people did not like color opps to remove it. I heard of people tryig to bleach it out but then wind up with alot of damage.Have a nice night, everyone. Judy K. Chicago.
