Say It Ain't So! Are Flip Flops a Spring "Don't" This Year?

Wednesday April 16, 2008
According to About's fashion guide, Cynthia Nellis, flip flops just might be over this year. I plan to ignore this latest "don't" because my Chaco hiking flip-flops have gotten me through two long, hot New York City summers. They're perfect for pounding the pavement and they are simple and black, so I don't look like a tourist from Montana.

About.com has created a bunch of new guidesites. Here's a round-up of what some of them are talking about:

Our new handbag guide writes about the latest trends in purses.
We have a new makeup guide who writes about lip gloss splurges and steals.
You'll go ga-ga over About's new baby clothes site. I just want to squeeze all the babies pictured!
The new guide for hair removal gives the pros and cons of waxing vs. tweezing the eyebrows. My opinion? Save money by threading brows, then follow-up with tweezers until your brows need a major clean-up.

Who cares if they are in or out I am wearing flip flops maybe we should start telling them what we want to wear instead of us following them!!!!!

(2) Doreen Twarkins Licensed Cosmetician says:

Don’t forget, do not get waxed while you have your period as it can result in excess swelling and irritation. Also, do not wax if you are taking or applying Retinol A. And do not wash, apply soaps, lotions, etc. for 24 hours after waxing and this applies to everyone. Do not go out to get a sun tan either. All this is because, when you wax the skin is extremely tramatized when the wax is removed. It’s not as bad as it sounds. Just take a few precautions. It’s worth it.

I’m 53 and flip flops have been “in” style all my life - I’m not changing now!
