Eyeliner Beauty Tip I Have to Share
Wednesday March 19, 2008
I'm not dreamy over Grey's Anatomy's Mr. McDreamy (Patrick Dempsey), but I had to try the makeup tip his makeup artist wife shared with Lucky Magazine in this month's issue. I went out and bought liquid eyeliner (Almay, a drugstore find) and tried it. This eyeliner trick requires liquid eyeliner and a steady hand. The results are supposed to be wider eyes.
Step 1: Start with a completely bare eye, no shadow or mascara.
Step 2: Apply liquid liner in the upper lashes. Dot the liner into lashes, pushing them aside if need be. The result is not supposed to be a line. It's supposed to look as if the lashes themselves are super thick at the root.
Step 3: Apply mascara.
Step 4: Compare eye to other naked eye and see if you love the results.
Will I do it again? Probably. It was nice. Didn't blow my mind, but it was a good beauty tip.

Sounds like a good tip. I’m going to give it a try.
Thanks!
This is a makeup trick i have been doing for the past few years to make my eyes look wider, i recommend it to everyone who wants a less tired looking eye.
This is something I’ll have to try. Another eye liner tip: Using a good pencil-type eye liner, heat the tip with a quick flip through a flame. The softened liner goes on easily and lasts longer than conventional application. Also, heating your lash curler with a blowdryer (check the heated curler against your wrist) will help to lock in curl. Allow your lashes to cool before applying mascara.
Liquid eyeliner irritates my eyes after a couple of days. I wish it didn’t because it looks great.
But wouldn’t this tip irritate your eyes if you wear contacts and it gets in your eyes. just a question because i wear contact lens
Danielle,
I don’t know if they exist in liquid eyeliners, but you’ll want to try to find something that says “noncomedogenic” and/or “safe for contact lens wearers.” If you find that the look irritates your eyes after a few days, save the liquid liner for special occasions and/or going out – the difference between liquid eyeliner and properly-applied pencil eyeliner isn’t THAT big anyway!
I have tried it and I love it!
Having alopecia areata, I lose whole sections of lashes at a clip. Have used the dot trick with liquid liner and yes it does make the illusion that some lash hairs are growing where there is a big section missing…BUT on some hurried occasions liquid liner got into my eye and to say it stings like hell is an understatement.
So…is there any specific brand known not to sting?
thanks,
Thea
