Chop, Chop: Gwyneth Gets a Haircut

Tuesday March 18, 2008
New photos of Gwyneth from yesterday show she's shorn off her long, stringy locks. If you recall, for the past couple years, Gwyneth's hair has been long, straight and beyond her breasts. She has a square face, so she can pull off long hair, but I always thought her hair looked too long and scraggly at the ends.

Do you love her new look or hate it? Comment below. (I always say that and no one does and then I feel silly, so please do weigh in!)

Love it! I think Gwyneth’s new hair is sexier and more fresh than her old ‘do…but maybe that’s just because we’ve become so accustomed to her old hairstyle.

Either way, I think it looks great on her.

P.S. — lol, feeling silly/feeling like you’re kind of talking to yourself is an occupational hazard of a blogger, isn’t it? ; )

(2) Stephanie says:

I LOVE it, and I’m surprised that I do, because I thought her old standby style was so glamorous!

Gwyn is so gorgeous she could pull off a buzz cut. We don’t hear as much about her these days, but I think she’s still a style icon. Oh yeah, and I love her hair.

I love it. I think its a well needed change for her.

(5) Nancy says:

I also really like it. I thought her long hair made her look too hoity-toity and unapproachable. Does that make sense? I think the shorter hair makes her look, um, more normal.

(6) lisa says:

I love Gwyneth. She still looks pretty, but her long hair was a little bit of her trademark. Oh well. I still love her.

Thank you all for weighing in! Gwyneth has made a very smart change and I can’t wait to see what she does it with style-wise.

LOVE IT!! I loved her super long and staight too but this looks like a nice new fresh cut.

(9) Cheri says:

Well now it’s shoulder-length and still scraggly at the ends, frankly…and it is cut to look like that….there’s no imagination to the undercut, stringy ends look, and I’m sick of it. Let’s get back to a 60’s flip or a 40’s waved and curled look, at least it looked as if people had combed their hair.

(10) Lori says:

I love her new haircut. The other one made her look dragged out.

(11) Rose says:

I think her hair looks dry and thin. You would think with as much money as she has her hair would look better. It is a blah haircut!

(12) Carol says:

Love it! Fresh and a new look for her and i like the little bit of flip on the ends adds a nice casual touch. BEFORE her hair was to long and straight for her facial features.

(13) Deanna says:

I think she is a beautiful girl, but to me her hair still looks stringy on the ends. I imagine she paid a lot for this and it’s just a haircut. Where is the style?

March 24, 2008 at 1:38 pm
(14) Mary Ann says:

Looks like a bad hair day to me. Looks like she needs a color job and conditioner.
I loved her long hair, but thought it needed trimming on the ends to make it look healthy.
I agree that with all her access to hair stylist and any product out there, her look, just looks blah. I think it is a “MISS” not a “HIT”.

(15) Koreen says:

OK, so it looks a bit stringy. Maybe she just doesn’t know what to do with it yet. The roots, now that’s a different story. No excuse, she should have had that fixed at the same time she got her hair cut.

March 24, 2008 at 3:05 pm
(16) Christina says:

As a hairstylist for the past 40 years the problem isn’t Gwyneth. It’s that her stylist lacks imagination. Those shattered ends dont’t look great on someone whose hair tend toward straggly. She needs to fire the stylist.

March 24, 2008 at 4:53 pm
(17) Kathleen says:

Not a big improvement - still thin ends and no style - she can do better than this I hope.

(18) Mb says:

Love it! Jen A should take notes. I hate long stringy hair.

March 24, 2008 at 6:37 pm
(19) Heather says:

She always looks beautiful; however, this new
do doesn’t do it for me. On anyone else it
would look like they were ready for a hair cut and style…

I love her hair! I think it suits her well.

(21) Keri says:

I love her new hair. she looks more natural now compared to before.

April 6, 2008 at 1:19 am
(22) D. June says:

I think she looked better with long wispy (not necessarily stringy) hair. It gave her a sultry air. Her new style is nondescript. Just like everybody else.

April 12, 2008 at 12:01 am
(23) Rob says:

Her hair is even shorter now. I loved her long hair when she groomed it, which wasn’t often. Still, I wish she hadn’t joined the chop trend.

April 29, 2008 at 10:08 am
(24) Linnie says:

I think she looks a lot less dour, if someone as attractive as she can ever really be described as dour at all! I thought her long thin straight hair pulled her face and subsequently her whole being ‘down’. Significant lightening up of her whole demeanor now - I don’t feel sad when I look at her her here.

(25) laurei says:

I say she could have hair extensions added for more fullness.

October 8, 2008 at 12:58 am
(26) joycemorrison says:

it looks the same! just shorter. if only she could part it NOT in the middle…

(27) gavin ticklebottom says:

Gyneth Pultro did not have enough hair chopped off. She should have it chopped all off, short-short-short close-layered hairstyle, nice and short off her ears and clipped likewise atthe back of her head (straight off the back0 with some electric hair clippers brrrrrrd-brrrrrrd-brrrrrrd!!!
