Hot New Trend: Imperfect Hair

Sunday February 17, 2008
I've noticed a trend lately that's cropping up in fashion magazines: Celebrity stylists admitting their clients insist on messy hair. Apparently the secret to looking cool these days is to appear as if you haven't been sitting for hours in a hair and makeup chair. It's muss and go. But getting the imperfect look is an art into itself and the secret is a good cut and texturizing spray. (I prefer Bumble and Bumble's Surf Spray, pictured here).

Find out how to get perfect, mussy hair in this quick tip. It works on all hair types and lengths.

Hi Julyne!

I think we’re seeing the backlash from the Posh Bob craze. I’m fully embracing the new trend. It’s easy-peasy and it gives my hairdryer a rest ;)

HI,
I’m glad to see this too. I have very, naturally, curly hair. I do what I want & what is best for me. But for a long time now, all I see in Chicago & in other areas, is the straight look, long or the short bobs.

That look is very time consuming & very hard to achive for me. So, I am glad that this type of style is coming back. What ever works for a person, that is the best thing to do. I am glad to see fuller hair & a bit of a scrunched, messy look coming back. I love all kinds of styles but it can be hard for people like me with curly hair. So, this is much easier. Judy K. Hi Judy,
The great thing about super curly hair is you can go straight or opt for curly. More of my friends with curly hair are giving up the flatiron and embracing their curls and loving it. The secret to curly hair is not to cut it too short.
