Sick of Dry, Itchy Skin? Try Aquaphor

Friday January 4, 2008
Awhile back, I read in a magazine that Lucy Liu's favorite all-time beauty product is Aquaphor Original Ointment. She stated she rubs it on everything, her lips, her legs and even her face in winter (to keep the wind from chapping her skin). So I had to buy it. In the winter, nothing works like this to keep my legs from shriveling up in the New York wind. I haven't tried it on my face. It's basically petroleum in a bottle (I suppose you could just dip into a tub of Vaseline) and it works by keeping the moisture in, while blocking wind, heat and cold from sapping your skin of moisture. Buy it online. Photo: Pricegrabber

The increased benefit of aquaphor is that it is water based not like vaseline. So your skin actually absorbs it which is why you can put it on your face.

oh, that’s good to know. It does feel a bit like putting Crisco on your skin, but it’s a great protectant, especially in the cold wind.
