Make Your Lips Poutier With Highlighter

Sunday November 11, 2007
Ever notice how little kids have adorable Cupid's bow lips, the little curve above the lip that forms the top of the "bow" with the little point on the bottom lip that forms the bottom of the bow? There's actually a term for the point where the lip meets the skin, according to November's Elle Magazine. The "G-K Point" is sharply defined in children, but slackens with age, according to Richard Glougau, who came up with the term.

Gougau suggests showing off what little Cupid's bow you have left with a bit of highlighter traced just above the lip (see actress Brittany Murphy's pout, left). A bit of highlighter (Elle suggests Benefit Cupid's Bow), just below the lip adds extra oomph.

I must attest to the fact that Benefit’s “Cupid’s Bow” does indeed play tricks with the light to give the appearance of a fuller pout! Those who are sensitive to lip plumpers will love this product. My full product review of Benefit’s Cupid’s Bow can be read here.
